The Prudential Gallo - Touch of Italy Foundation is proud to present An Evening With Patricia Racette on Saturday, August 18 at the Cape Henlopen High School Theatre in Lewes, DE.Opera audiences and music lovers worldwide have thrilled to the artistry of Metropolitan Opera and Washington National Opera soprano Patricia Racette. Racette, has been called "one of the opera world’s best sopranos" by New York's WQXR, and will sing a program of operatic arias and jazz and Broadway standards. Craig Terry, a Chicago Lyric Opera conductor, will accompany her at the piano. Performing for the first time ever in Delaware, Racette and Terry will appear in support of two worthy local organizations. All proceeds will be donated to Coastal Concerts and The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Medical Center, both located in Lewes.Hailed by The New York Times for the "uncommon richness, expressivity, and honesty" of her voice. Racette will perform a compelling program while A Touch of Italy Restaurant will dazzle the palate with a pre-performance reception of Italian delicacies and beverages.Doors will open for appertivi at 6:30 pm and the performance will begin at 8:00 pm, proceeding without intermission. A “meet and greet” for all ticket holders will be held following the performance. Tickets are priced at $50.00 and $75.00. Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing students and children under 18 may purchase at tickets at 1/2 price, with identification.
